Climate action plan

Helping the travel industry with regulatory, financial and strategic problems is what we do best, and some of the biggest travel companies in the world trust us to solve their problems. We provide expert advice and services while positively impacting our people, clients and communities. We recently became a certified B Corp and committed to delivering an effective climate action plan by signing the Glasgow Declaration. This will set out our strategy to reduce our environmental impact and allow us to support our clients through their sustainability journeys.

Measure

In 2023, we started measuring the environmental impact of our offices and staff across the three companies in the TTC group. We consulted with sustainability experts Terraverde to ensure we accounted for all aspects of the business. Using 2022/23 as our base year, our group emissions were 29.5 tonnes CO2e. Going forward, we’ll continue measuring our carbon emissions each year.

Our data collection revealed that our top three sources of emissions were:

1. Business travel

2. Homeworking

3. IT

Reduce/decarbonise

We’re a low-impact company, with our team working predominantly remotely, but we recognise there are still areas for improvement, and we’re committed to lowering our emissions. We’re taking steps to reduce the impact of our business by;

  1. Minimising air travel;
  2. Incentivising staff to move to renewable energy suppliers and;
  3. Reducing our digital footprint.

Regeneration/removal

Throughout 2024 we’ll be looking at ways to support the regeneration of carbon in the environment alongside our plans to reduce our own consumption.

Our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint are in their infancy; therefore, our current priorities are to focus our efforts on reducing our footprint in the areas that allow it. Following our data collection in 2024, we will look at ways to support carbon regeneration in the environment alongside further plans to reduce our consumption.

Communicate/collaborate

We recognise that due to our small carbon footprint, our primary role is communicating and collaborating with our industry peers. We will share our journey and plans for the future, initiate conversations with industry partners and clients, and engage with communities such as B Corp’s ‘B-Hive’ and the Travel by B Corp collective. We hope that through the power of communication and collaboration, we can not only encourage others to join us on this journey but learn and challenge our thoughts and approaches to continue to use our business to positively impact the lives of our people, our clients and the community we live in.
