The latest results from Viking, Trip.com, Hurtigruten, TUI and Jet2 show that travel demand is still going strong, though in slightly different ways across the sector.

Viking and Hurtigruten are enjoying double-digit revenue and booking growth, with future seasons already looking stronger than last year, clear signs that people are keen to lock in premium cruise and adventure experiences well ahead of time.

Trip.com also saw a healthy 16% lift in revenue, while TUI reported solid gains too, with its tours and activities arm up 13% and airlines and markets up nearly 7%. However, both sets of results were boosted by higher prices due to the Easter holiday timing.

Jet2 is expanding capacity and seeing strong growth in flight-only sales, but package holidays are growing more slowly. Customers are booking later, which keeps the pressure on pricing.

Put together, it paints a picture of a buoyant sector: cruises and tours are benefiting from early commitments and online platforms are tapping into global demand,  but others remain tentative amid shifting booking habits in a competitive market.
