In December 2023, Travel Trade Consultancy, The Travel Vault and Stonecot Trustees all became B Corp certified. In this post, we share the three main reasons we decided to go through the rigorous certification process.

1 – It’s the journey, not the destination

When we started our B Corp journey in earnest back in September 2020, we genuinely didn’t know if we’d be able to satisfy all of the criteria. But we were certain about one thing. We knew that working through the impact assessment and the certification process would make us a better business. And so it proved! These days, we’re much clearer on what we’re trying to achieve and why. And we have better processes for measuring our impact.

2 – An alignment of core values

We’ve always tried to operate our business in a way that positively impacts the lives of our people, our clients, and the community we live in. This is very closely aligned with B Corp’s guiding principle: that business should be a force for good and that people and planet are as important as profit.

So discovering the B Corp movement was a lightbulb moment, and we immediately knew we needed to be part of the community.

3 – Our team is our superpower

Our team has always been our backbone. We’re committed to creating a workplace built on fairness, equality, inclusivity and sustainability where everyone feels part of something bigger. Now, thanks to the rigorous B Corp process, we have much more thoughtful employment policies and better ways of listening to our team, too.

March is B Corp month, so it’s the perfect time to learn about the certification process. You can find out more about it here.
