In this post, we share how we celebrated B Corp Month 2024.

TTC

As a B Corp, we’re committed to the triple bottom line – where people and the planet are just as important as profit.

B Corps constantly move forward to reduce climate impact, address evolving global challenges and journey towards a brighter business future.

Throughout March, we have participated in several activities to mark B Corp Month. Here are a few things our team got up to.

Volunteering at Ace of Clubs

On Friday 8 March, some of our Travel Trade Consultancy, The Travel Vault and Stonecot Trutstees team members volunteered at Ace of Clubs.

Ace of Clubs serves those in the local South London community who experience homelessness, including sleeping rough or living in temporary or insecure housing.

Our volunteers donned their gardening gloves and spent several hours helping the charity clear an area in the garden to create a vegetable patch.

Tony’s Chocolonely treats for our clients and friends of TTC

Tony’s Chocolonely and Travel Trade Consultancy are very different businesses. One is a sweet package of tasty, values-driven goodness. The other makes chocolate! But we do have one thing in common – we’re both B Corps.

So, when we decided to send clients a gift to celebrate our B Corp Certification, Tony’s Chocolonely was the obvious choice. If you don’t know the Tony’s story, you can find out about the misshaped chocolate here – it’s definitely worth a read!

B Corp brainstorming session

IWe swapped our monthly company Lunch and Learn in March for a B Corp brainstorming session. Together with our Stonecot Trustees and Travel Vault colleagues, we heard from the team who led our B Corp application. They ran us through the five different areas of B Corp: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. This was the perfect opportunity to gather the team to hear ideas about future planning, committing to the cause, and ensuring TTC and our sister companies maintain the B Corp standard.

Insights from fellow B Corp Byway

The Travel Vault client, Byway, is a perfect example of an organisation that has embodied the B Corp values. Founder Cat Jones started the application process the day after she incorporated the company, so the values have been embedded in the company from the very beginning.

Byway is the first 100% flight-free travel platform, creating customisable travel and accommodation packages away from the traditional tourist trails, using trains, buses and ferries, with on-demand support via WhatsApp throughout.

We invited Paul Conroy, Head of Partnerships, to our weekly team call to talk to us about the B Corp journey they’ve been on and some of the initiatives they’ve implemented in the business.

Our first B Corp month was a success and has set the path to support the movement for the rest of 2024 and the future. We are proud to be part of Travel by B Corp and B Lab UK and continue to work as a team and follow companies to improve and unite in the cause.
